American Family Ass. boycotting McDonald’s homosexual agenda
Submitted by fak3r on Thursday, 3 July 20084 CommentsRight-wing American Family Association (AFA) are boycotting McDonalds of their ‘gay agenda’. They’re pissed because McD’s Vice President of Communications Richard Ellis’s is serving on the Board of Directors of the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC). Sounds like the end of the world to me, lets get their word on the matter:
What the boycott of McDonald’s IS about? It is about McDonald’s, as a corporation, refusing to remain neutral in the culture wars. McDonald’s has chosen not to remain neutral but to give the full weight of their corporation to promoting the homosexual agenda, including homosexual marriage.
Oh boy, then the AFA President Donald Wildmon says that it’s strange because “…it’s the family that McDonald’s appeals to — children’s playland, you know, all the little toys, all of that. And they are promoting a lifestyle that would utterly destroy the traditional family.” Guess I need to tell the gay parents that I know that their great job they’re doing raising their kids is DESTROYING the traditional family. Welcome to a time that isn’t the 1950s folks! Credit to McD’s for keeping it real with their rebuttal, “…We treat our employees and our customers with respect and dignity, regardless of their ethnicity, religious beliefs, sexual orientation or other factors. We support our employees’ personal involvement in organizations of their choice.” Allowing people to choose how to live their lives? What a great concept. Of course there’s always two sides to the story, and the comments on the boycottmcdonalds site are a fun way to get a feel for the ‘other side’ in all their outspoken glory…I’ll post some snippets below…

Contact lens jewelry

Recently people have started pimping up their contact lenses. It makes no sense to me, at least leave your eyes alone. The Swarovski 'Sparkle' product looked okay, but I thought it was a one off. Boy, was I wrong. Here we are with The Eye Jewellery Project made by artist Eric Klarenbeek. Just looking at this contact lenses jewelry gives me shudders. Passing some medical wire through some crystals and attaching it to your contact lenses have created the product. From the pictures I've seen, it looks like you have a teardrop running down your cheek. If you are worried about getting in a fight and having someone tug at it and watching your eyeball fall out, don't worry. The only damage will be to the jewelry if any, says Eric. Do you really want to take his word for it though?

levis unleashes the beast in your jeans

Levi's wants customers to get in touch with their inner beast.
The San Francisco company has launched a new viral effort it hopes will attract young men to pass along videos of customized "beasts" emerging from the button-fly of Levi's jeans. At Unbuttonyourbeast.com, visitors can choose from nine different animated characters with names like Trout Troutman, Paul the Pincher and Sock Nasty, then customize the beast's message by calling a toll-free number. The effort, unsurprisingly, is geared to young men just out of college.
The e-mail arrives with the subject "Do you dare to unbutton my beast?" Users can customize the message to friends. The default borders on the risque, reading, "There's something I've been meaning to tell you, but I don't want to freak you out. That's why I'm sending my beast to do my dirty work." Senders receive a confirmation e-mail that their message was sent -- along with a 15 percent off coupon for jeans.
Omnicom Group-backed EVB created the effort, its latest try at viral success. EVB and Toy New York created "Elf Yourself," the runaway hit for OfficeMax the past two holiday seasons. Doug Sweeny, director of brand marketing at Levi's, was hesitant to shoot for "Elf Yourself" numbers, but admitted he "would be pretty disappointed if only 100-200,000 were sent."
"We expect it to go pretty big," he said. "We think it's ripe for the pass-along social-media space."
Daniel Stein, CEO of EVB, said the shop worked to create a site racy enough to attract a hard-to-please young male demographic without going overboard. As shown by Axe and the more recent viral effort by Diesel, that line can be fuzzy.
"Levi's has always been a brand that's willing to take risks," he said. "They've always been on the forefront of innovative marketing."
The site is part of the recently launched "Unbutton" campaign EVB created for Levi's. That effort encompasses a dozen up-and-coming celebrities featured in a print and digital push. The ads offer a glimpse of the real person behind the almost famous and their downloadable content.
As part of an effort to invigorate the Levi's brand, it has made several forays into viral marketing. Cutwater was brought in to do several YouTube videos. One featuring a man jumping into pairs of jeans has drawn more than 4 million views on the site.
"It's a brand that sits in the middle of pop culture," Sweeny said.

how japan plans to generate power and provide food

Japan realizing its massive future energy needs has decided to build ECO rigs that are generators which measure 1.2 miles by 0.5 miles that ground various alternate energy collectors like solar arrays, wind turbines and other green sources. Each of these Eco Rigs could produce around 300 megawatt hours of power, scientists even estimate that strapping three such Rigs could produce enough energy as a standard Nuclear power station. The power generated from these ECO-Rigs could be used to fuel colossal underwater banks of LEDs which could use these platforms as nurseries for specially selected seaweed that absorbs carbon dioxide and feeds fish and plankton. Deep-sea water that is rich in minerals will enhance the seaweed growth. The wind turbines will power pumps that will then draw the water to the surface these rigs which will be unmanned and comprise several hexagonal platforms.
Note - Pictured above is the Lilypad, another concept structure.
These village-sized platforms will be seen popping up on the Japanese coastline within a decade, all we can do is just wait and watch while the Japanese take strides into greener energy.

Daniel Craig requests Gay Love Scene in next Bond Movie

In the follow-up of Casino Royale, Daniel Craig is trying to convince producers to include a gay sex scene between Bond and another man. He has also confessed he is completely prepared to film a full-frontal nude scene to please both his male and female admirers.
daniel craig in james bond
"Why not? I think in this day and age, fans would have accepted it," Craig told IOL. "I mean, look at Doctor Who - that has had gay scenes in it and no one blinks an eye."
We’re not so sure the execs would dig the idea too much. Last time they tried to change the formula it ended with Bond getting married and the critically agreed worst entry in the series ever (On Her Majesty’s Secret Service - 1969). That said, HollywoodSnark is 100% behind the idea.
